Dry Act # 2: South Domino is an evening of documentary, performance and games. One of iDANS’s co-productions this year, Dry Act # 2: South Domino deals with games that are considered culturally fundamental to a country, such as Backgammon in Turkey, Truco in Argentina or Chinese Chess in China. They use these games as a way to look at social interaction, decision-making and competitiveness and expose how such games can be seen both as metaphors and actual structures of social interaction.
Anne-Linn Akselsen and Adrián Minkowicz explore games on different levels in the light of Game Theory in order to see how simple mechanics of winning and losing, winning and winning, loosing and loosing, are saturated in all levels of society. They also examine the choreography of the game-playing; for example, the body's rhythm in the game, the speed of thought and ability to read the opponent’s strategies. How do the players react to each other? What skills do they develop within tactics, strategies and probability calculations? How do the players communicate about who they are, through their way of playing the game? A performance text is developed on the basis of documented material from interviews with players from Argentina, Turkey and China.

Human Works
The theater artist Adrián Minkowicz and the dance artist Anne-Linn Akselsen founded Human Works in 2009. The performance Dry Act #1: Corpse Aroma was premiered in December 2009 in Brussels, at Les Brigittines within the frame of the international festival Working Title. The Dry Act Trilogy is linked through a research into the individual’s being in the world of today, on three different strata of society.
Anne-Linn Akselsen is a Norwegian dance artist, based in Brussels. She has created several works, among which her solo Sing me, for your life, in a Portuguese folia, the reason for your happiness (2008) won 1st prize at the Baltic Movement Contest in 2010. As a performer she worked with Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker/Rosas, Jean Luc Ducourt, Salva Sanchis and Heine Avdahl and she has danced in and toured works by e.g. William Forsythe and Trisha Brown. She is a professional tango dancer and has taught dance at different institutions around the world. She is a graduate from The Royal Swedish Ballet School in Stockholm and both cycles of P.A.R.T.S. in Brussels.
Adrián Minkowicz is a multifaceted artist from Argentina. He is a lawyer, actor, director, playwright, comedian and tango dancer. He has studied acting at the Bova Actors Workshop and the Lee Strasberg Institute in New York and he has worked with renowned directors like Carlos Gandolfo and Julio Chavez. As a professional tango dancer, he has been dancing and teaching for several years in Buenos Aires and around Europe. He is also a regular comedian of the "World Famous Comic Strip Live" of New York and he has performed in cities like Madrid, Buenos Aires, Oslo, Beijing, Tokyo and Hong Kong. He is a writer for the "Comic Bible Magazine". He also holds a Master Degree in Law & Economics.
